The Road to Riley journey began in the spring of 2011.
John and Stacie met on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Spring 2011. They shared a mutual class together (Entertainment Law) and their friendship blossomed from there. In their early years, their common interests of music, the arts, food, comedy and traveling began to take root and in a short time, their friendship began to grow into another level. Towards the beginning of 2012 John took a leap of faith & asked Stacie if she would do him the honor of dating him: she allowed him the opportunity to court her. On July 20th of 2012, the two made the relationship official.
Throughout the years, their friendship & growing relationship grew in many ways. John began to take notice of Stacie's gifts for art and creation of crafts. John impressed Stacie with his gifts of poetry and writing. Artistically, they began to understand each others personal passions -- which helped them deepen their bond. They began to travel around the world, discovering older cultures and lifestyles. They began to invest in each others professional passions. Stacie originally started her professional path in Education but eventually pivoted into the government space. John, having his roots in government solution selling, pivoted into commercial software sales and has pursued different paths in IT.
In the fall of November 2016, the couple became pregnant with their first child. They gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Aaliyah Michelle, in August of 2017. Finally, on Stacie’s 28th birthday, while in New Orleans, Louisiana at the beautiful modern french style restaurant The Courtyard of the Two Sisters, John asked Stacie for her hand in marriage. The culmination of 8 years of friendship, growth, compassion, mistakes, lessons, new life & a blindingly bright future has now come to the greatest day for both Stacie & John: their wedding day.
