Their Love Story

How did you two meet? : Instagram seven years ago.  Tell us about the proposal? : Oh man the proposal was a movie! I decided to go over the top with it. Me and her best friend Glorimir put some ideas together while i was away on training. and decided to choose mizner park for the venue. We told her it was a birthday dinner since her birthday was three days prior to this. Then GloriMir and my best friend Dan got huge “will you marry me?”Balloons  and decorated a walk way full of rose petals and candles. I also added a violinist and got her to play the songs “marry me” by bruno mars “all of me” by John legend and “perfect” by Ed Sheeran. And to top off the whole night i invited some of her closest friends and family who came all the way from NY. The surprise on her face and her screams of pure shock made it all the better when she finally was able to decode who all were holding the balloons. At first i wasn’t nervous but it’s something about getting on that one knee that had me shaking non stop. But i finally got the courage to ask her “will you marry me?” Honestly it was my single most greatest surprise ever. <— Steven.  Steven was gone for a few weeks prior to our proposal. With my birthday coming up my best friend Glori asked me what i wanted to do. I told her nothing but she insisted i get really dressed up and go out to dinner with friends since i never do anything according to her on my birthday. I agreed after going back and forth so much. The day of the proposal i had a feeling he was going to propose. Not sure why but my gut told me so. The last thing on my mind was how it actually went down. I honestly thought we were going to dinner with friends and he was going to do it during or after dinner. Minutes before we left our home he told my son Michael Elvis he was going to ask mami to marry him. Elvis hinted a few things that assured me what was going to happen. When we got near the venue he asked me to put a blindfold on and i argued the rest of the ride there telling him he was going to mess up my make-up. When we got there and he guided me using his hands to close my eyes while we walked towards the walk way all i kept asking was “what is going on”? Lol. When i was finally able to see and seen what probably was about 100 people waiting for us my heart dropped. As we got closer and i noticed my aunt Yahaira and grandmother (who flew down from NY) thats when the screams came in. It was just beautiful. Everything was perfect. I literally was in “lala land” the entire night.  How was your experience our session? The experience during the session was beyond what we expected. Now I (Steven) am related to the Virgos so i really wasn't sure what kind of treatment 'd receive. But it was nothing short of professional. Kareem and Sandy work well together they made us feel as if we were in control the whole time. They helped us pick a location, were open to different pose ideas and made us feel like real life models. All in all I give our experience an 11 out of 10.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to other couples for the session?

Own your photo shoot! Meaning dont just go with what kareem says, get creative!  Throw some ideas out there! Have fun! Laugh! And let Kareem capture and bring your love story to life!

How has the wedding planning been thus far? Any advice that you would give to couples? There wasn’t any official wedding planning for us. We decided to keep it intimate and got married 1 week after our photo shoot at a church with our pastor. In the future we do plan on having a grand ceremony and vow renewals where we can invite everyone! Honestly our advice is do what is best for you and your significant other. Don't let the pressure of family , friends or personal issues decide when and how you are to get married.
